You know I'm really not good at updating this thing like I thought I would be! I guess it's a good thing my dad is good at that stuff because he's already got some pictures posted at this link:

I also wanted to share a video of one of the songs we did at our July 4th Welcome Aboard Show. I was able to do Independence Day with the band and it was SO much fun!! Here's the link for that one too! :

You may want to fast forward through the first 30 seconds or so because it's just our cruise director introducing the song...if you can't click on the link directly then copy it onto your clipboard and paste it into your browser.
Other than that fun stuff things are about the same up here. It was REALLY nice having Dad's side of the family up for a while. I got a wake up call just about everyday from Dad, and for once I didn't mind it! haha It was hard to see everyone leave so soon, but I just keep telling myself it won't be long until I see them again!!
The shows are going really well. No more sea sickness. I think I'm finally over the hump and used to being this far away from everyone. I'm really starting to love what I do and appreciate more and more the opportunity God has given me to use my gifts. I know this is where I'm supposed to be and that feels really good. Don't get me wrong though, I still miss everyone of course! I've just made some great friends here...some that I think will be at least really really good pen pals for years to come if nothing else! I'm learning so much about myself and about the world. I'm seeing things that I can't describe and just imagining that God made these things with his 2 hands for us to enjoy is ....INCREDIBLE.
I hope all is well in the south. I miss the warm weather that's for sure! Keep me posted and I'll try to do the same for you guys too!!

SOOOOO awesome to get to see you in the show and to get to meet some of the people you work with. You know we miss you terribly. You look wonderful and it was great to see for ourselves (I'm sure I speak for everyone) that you are doing well.
We love you, miss you, are praying for you--and are SO proud of you!
This was really an awesome week. Of course, the best part was seeing you. The shows were fantastic and i can't believe the weather after talking with you and peope at each port. We were all three saying tonight that we wish we were going back. Love you very much. Keep in touch. Again, I know you think it is just the same thing every week, but for us here, any information is great to read.
Love,
Dad
I added a few more pictures. Some of the welcome show and some of the farewell show.
Live,
Dad
Luv the videos! You still look like you are having a great time just wish I could have been there with the rest of the family. I know yaw had a great time & I have really enjoyed seeing all the pics they took while they were there. Keep on sharing your faith & keep the LORD 1st and everything else will fall into place. Larry says Hey and watch out for the crazies out there. We luv ya and miss ya! Praying for ya still! Luv Ging & Larry
Hey sweetie: Time for more pictures and an update!! I check everyday to keep up with you.
Love you lots, Aunt Margaret
Hey Girl! I haven't had a chance in a while to zip you a blog, but I have LOVED seeing your Dad's pictures that he emailed me. I haven't even emailed him yet to tell him thanks, but I will as soon as I can.
I am so excited about seeing the photos and the video! I am going to wait until it is not after midnight to enjoy it. If I click on it now, I'll get so excited that I won't EVER go to bed! I have to use discipline, or I'll shoot tomorrow and I have friends coming into town.
Please do update us as regularly as you can. Once per week is great. If you get bored, twice a week would be even better. I am so excited that you are really settling in to this lifestyle and that you are right smack in the middle of God's will. That is AWESOME! There is true peace there. I knew that you would develop some lifelong friends on this special journey. You know, I never dreamed that the people I have met along the way would actually stay in touch. They do. Today, Chuck, TJ, TJ's buddy and I met a couple from NYC in Cracker Barrel in Oxford! I was in Alabama's Junior Miss with Ginger and actually met Ben Walker, who is a sportswriter for AP in NYC when I was there auditioning at age 25. We have kept up with each other ever since we met and today, we spent 4 hours visiting in Cracker Barrel. We were so loud!
Ginger, Ben and I have met and visited through the years. Today, Chuck met them for the first time ever. I have never seen Chuck like that. He reads Ben's columns all the time when they come over the wire at WDNG. Ben is apparently a big-time sportswriter and well known in his field. I honestly thought Chuck was going to ask him for his autograph! He asked Ben question after question, just like I do to you!!! Ben was down covering some event in Birmingham and Ginger's family lives there. We had a blast and you will, too, in days to come.
I predict that you will have similar experiences in your life as time goes on. At the very least, the stories you will have to tell you children - wow!!!
OK. Gotta go. I'll be back in touch amidst the hectic first two weeks of August - TJ's birthday dinner with both sets of grandparents (I actually cook big for this one!), TJ's birthday party with his buddies (spend the night party this year with 8 boys -don't know where I'm going to put them), the CP Telethon (we'll miss you singing!), TJ beginning 7th grade (can you believe where the time goes?) Cheatham family reunion in Cullman (they also stay & visit a few days afterward). I'm already tired just thinking about it.
Watching your video and seeing the pictures you've sent everyday will be a breath of fresh air for me.
By the way, Dr. Corbin did put in a sentence or two about you in the Choral Newsletter. I was delighted. She didn't include photos, but I guess she doesn't have the capacity to do so. Anyway, we are all still excited about what you are doing and I am making sure that everybody is able to keep up with you.
OK, I'm really going to bed now. Have a great week, enjoy your buddies, enjoy the show, see, experience, live and show God's light to all you meet. I am always praying for you.
Love, Mrs. Stricklin
