YAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!! You are NOT BLOND!!! WHEEE!!! That makes me HAPPY!!!!! However, I do like the fact that you are wearing wigs as part of your costuming. They look fine with your costumes and create the character beautifully! No doubt, you are an expert on the art of putting on wigs. In my limited attempts, I was unsuccessful.

And look at those legs! WHOOO!!! Boy, you can tell that you have been dancing, moving, working!!!

I am officially DYING to see your show now! I wish Chuck were up for going somewhere besides Ft. Walton Beach, Florida! If it were up to me, I would take the cruise to Australia, see your show every night, and hit the ports during the day while docked. I might even drag you along when you could get away to go see everything possible. Its probably a good thing for you that I am not going. I would probably wear you out. Ah well, I can dream, can't I?

Needless to say, I LOVE the pictures!!! I can't wait to get them up on my walls!!! Thank you for including a photo of you singing as a brunette. People will now recognize you!

By the way, how long are each of your individual shows? 1 hour? 2 hours? I can't remember if I told you about this or not, but if I already have, just dismiss it to senility setting in... When I worked one summer in a theme park, we did 6-7 30 minute shows throughout the day live everyday with 1 day off. I did 500 30 minute shows that summer. The pacing was quite different from what your shows would be, I would imagine. We did a lot of dance, constant singing and numerous costume changes. It was nonstop for 30 minutes at a time. We had 30 minutes after each show to recouperate. When you do 2 shows per night, how much time was in between? What was the pacing like? Is it relaxed or breathless costume changes at the speed of lightning? When you have some time on your hands, please explain. I'm curious. (imagine that!)

By the way, I talked with Dr. Corbin last night. She had called about Freshman Orientation and got around to asking about you. She wanted to know if things were going well, if you were enjoying yourself and if you were happy. I told her that you loved performing, your job and seeing the world (eventually), but that you really missed home, family and friends. She understood and was relieved when I told her that you were happy. She said that your adjustment to being away from home was the only thing that she had been concerned about.

I told her to go to your March 17 email and see if she could find your original email with the blogspot on it. I told her that she could for sure reach you on the blogspot. I have been having trouble simply typing in the address for the blogspot. I have to go to your March 17 email (which I have saved) and click on the link to go to this blog. I haven't figured anything else out yet. I have also gone to your MySpaceMusic site in order to see if there is a way to click on there and I still can't get it except for the way I have described to you.

Anyway, I told her that you had included her and Dr. Baptiste in your original email and that she should try to find it if she could. You might consider sending her an email again or trying to reach her someway. Her email address is pcorbin@jsu.edu in case you have forgotten. It would be cool if you communicate with her, because I really want you to be in her choral newletter in August! I don't know if she has the capacity for photos, but it would be cool if she included a photo or 2 in her choral newsletter!

OK. I guess thats all I needed to tell you. I am so excited with the photos. When you get a chance, blog some more! This whole process is fascinating to me! As you know, I may not be able to blog as much when September rolls around, so I want to ask all my questions now so that when I think of you, I won't wonder things.......

Have a great day, work hard, stay well and keep the faith! And when you get the least bit down, remember that TJ and I are going to a Dental appointment today and wouldn't you prefer to be doing what you are doing rather than going to a dental appointment?

Keep on counting your blessings, look on the bright side of every situation, look for the silver lining and appreciate this time in your life and all that God has blessed you with! Let's see, did I cover all the cliches and is appreciating all that you have ringing true with the movie that you just saw? If so, then I have accomplished my goal!

Embrace your blessings today and have fun!

Hey Squirt,
Love seeing the pictures. Can't wait to see you first and also to see the shows. I hope you will get to do all 3 while we are there. We will see you a week from tomorrow. Hopefully you will have some time while we are there. I will send you an e-mail of the couple of excursions that we have planned. I know you think your comments on your blog are boring, but remember that we don't know what is going on. Every little bit of information is interesting to us. Keep writing and updating us.
Love,
Dad

Hi Kristian!

You know, I was just looking at your expressions on your face in all the different photos that you sent. It struck me that you have come full circle as a performer. I remember so well when you sang everything with absolutely NO expression on your face. It was the style in which you sang - do you remember how hard we worked on acting and how Dr. Corbin also repeatedly asked for your facial expressions to change? Well, if you haven't stopped long enough to notice, take a look at your face up close on the photos. Every expression is different. Each expression speaks and gives the meaning of what you are singing. Furthermore, the body language also speaks and expresses the message you are communicating. Do you remember all those things I talked about in Class Voice and Voice lessons? You are doing them now. Do you know how fulfilling that is to a voice teacher? That thrills me!

Your Elton John photo is so sassy - your green dress photo is so soulful and heartfelt - your "fro" wig shot is so off the wall - your piano man duet shot is so "in love" - each face is so different and there is a huge difference in each one! How fantastic! Everything we were trying to teach you is now coming out in the music that you love to sing! The growth is so dramatic that I'm not so sure that people will recognize the performer as you, expecially with the wigs! I almost had to take a second look to make sure that the photo was of you! You have grown SO MUCH in the last year as a performer! I am SO PROUD of you!

When we talk about "lifelong learning", we are not just talking about taking classes in a classroom setting. Although that is a part of it, we are also referring to the idea of constantly improving your musical skills, natural ability, mental attitude, life skills, and knowledge of your field. You are doing all of that right now, on a daily basis. You won't believe the difference these 9 months will make in you as a performer and as a person. The growth will be astounding. You will be an even more advanced Kristian, hand-made and hand-molded by God.

The whole process fascinates me. It is so cool to watch as it unfolds. God is amazing in everything He does and it is exhilarating to watch Him develop a person into what He wants for that person's life. Watching Heather Whitestone's journey was incredible and still takes my breath away. When you see Him develop his child from the very beginning to the very end is enough to stop you right in your tracks.

I am looking so forward to watching the Lord take you on your journey through these nine months and beyond. I truly stand in awe of His handiwork. When you send photos and blogs to us, we get a glimpse of what God is doing in your life. That may not be as important to your peers as it is to those of us who are farther along the journey than you. Those of us who have lived life a little longer than you and have watched you grow up have a keen sense of appreciation for everything that happens to you. What you do every day is important to all of us, even though it may seem to you to be mundane.

Please let us celebrate the journey with you. Don't forget.

Love, Mrs. Stricklin

Hey Baby Girl,

Paul and I went to the park today. I thought of you most of the day. I hardly recognize you in some of these pictures. You look comfortable, like you're having a good time. Keep posting them, don't for some of us have to live our lives through you.. I miss you terribly.

Love always

I have been busy with VBS and vacation for the past 2 weeks ~ Plus, I knew that you would be busy with your family as well. I KNOW that you have had a fabulous time with them on the cruise.
