Getting better everyday :)

Well, our whole cast was finally back at rehearsals today after having 1/2 of our girls get quarantined to a hotel with G.I. (gastro-intestinal something...) for 3 days. First Heather started the throw-up process on Wed. and by Thurs. we had 3 girls sick and they were sending someone to our apartment to disinfect EVERYTHING while the girls packed and headed to a hotel. But, thankfully everyone finally has medicine and is feeling a good bit better. AND I DIDN'T GET IT!!! YAY! hahaha :) I just can't afford to be so sick that I can't go to rehearsals right now. There's just too much that I need to learn and I have to do this stuff over and over and over to really grasp it so...I definitely can't be quarantined to a hotel room...though it would've been nice to have my own big bed, room service and my own t.v. to watch whatever I wanted for a night!
Even though rehearsals haven't been the same without the other cast members I will say that it's given me a lot of opportunity to work on my songs. Since no one else other than Eric and I have been able to sing we've really been able to focus on our songs when we're with the vocal director, so I feel really good about my part of the 2nd show so far. I'm finally starting to get the choreography, so now it's just a matter of making it look natural instead of like...well, choreography. :)
Other than that I should have some VERY interesting pictures to post after tonight because I will be attending our first themed party of the rehearsal period: "WHITE TRASH CHRISTMAS". Don't ask me what I'm gonna wear, but from what I understand everyone is expecting me to be the most creatively redneck because I'm from Alabama...I don't know if I appreciate the assumption, but never the less it should be a very interesting night for all of us! hahaha If you have suggestions please feel free to text or call!
I miss everyone like crazy, but I'm still having a blast down here! Don't forget about me while I'm hundreds of miles away!!!!

With Love,
Kristian

Hey Kristian, I knew things would start to come around. I'm glad you didn't get sick! All things happen for a reason. Maybe you just needed a little extra time on this one. I'm counting down the days until we see you in Florida. We know Merry will be coming to the show, Virginia is working on getting a sitter. You have a birthday coming up soon. The first one away from family. I'm sure it will be a blast! Is there anthing we need to include on the birthday list. Hurry, only a few shopping days left.

Hi Kristian!
Well, I must say, I am PROUD of you for not getting sick! You see, you really can avoid it if you work at it and live healthy!!! I will keep praying that you and the rest of the cast will get and stay well. It is common for people to get sick when their bodies run out of steam. You have to get enough rest, healthy food, and ward off the stress if you want to avoid getting sick - especially in such close quarters. Echineacea doesn't hurt, either...
I am so glad that you have had extra time to work on your songs. That will bring down your stress level significantly.
Now, the other thing I want to warn you about is this: after a while, all of you will get on each other's nerves. It may be in a month from now, or a few months from now. Just have patience, pray a lot, don't hurt each other, and be a witness for the Lord. It will pass and all of you will be closer from the experience. Just remember I said this and don't let it catch you off guard. This sort of thing happens with stress, exhaustion and being away from home for a while. It is normal. It happens to the closest of friends and the best of people. If if happens to your cast, don't be alarmed. It will pass. Each time I traveled overseas with USO, and all the other trips I did singing, it happened every time. If it doesn't happen to your crew, consider it a tremendous blessing. Remember how the soprano section would get in A Cappella at the end of the year and sometimes earlier? Same sort of thing...only all of you are friends!!!!!

By the way, a news item...Pam Shirley Lawrence has auditioned for Disney and has had a final callback. She finds out if she makes the Voices of Liberty the first week of June. She is so excited. I hope that she is given the opportunity to perform. She really needs the boost. Her husband will go with her. The contract is for 1 year if they offer it to her. She'll postpone school for a while, if not indefinitely. If she doesn't get the job, she'll do her recital in September.
Haley has the lead in "The Mikado" and is busily preparing for both the opera and the Miss Alabama pageant.
I am emceeing Miss Alabama this year. They called me to do it as a surprise for Jamie. Jamie has had a fabulous year as Miss Alabama. I can't believe it is almost over. Haley and I went out to Miss America. Although I was disappointed with the pageant in general, I'm glad I saw Jamie and that she knew that we were there. She looked gorgeous and should have at least made the top ten. Jamie is planning to come back to finish her degree at JSU. She and Tyson are as thick as ever, in fact, more so. I hope that they can finish their degrees before they can't stand themselves anymore and get married. I see Jamie and Tyson doing what you are doing now.
I just got finished with juries and the opera is bearing down upon me in a major way. So is the idea of being able to fit into a gown for Miss Alabama. Pray for me that the stress will diminish, along with my waistline. I don't have the benefit of being in my 20s anymore and dancing all day in rehearsals! (which is what I really need to be doing!!!)

OK. Enough update about all of your buddies at JSU. We miss you and everyone is THRILLED and so PROUD of you! Dr. Corbin talks about you and your success all of the time! Isn't that neat?

Keep working hard and know that this is the time of your life. You are only in your 20s once. ENJOY!!!!!! You'll cherish the memories when you get old like me!!!!! (Tee hee)
