Well, the verdict is in. Everyone has gotten contract offers now. I got an offer for the Legend of the Seas. It's the same class ship as this one with an amazing run through places like Italy, Greece Egypt, India, Asia, and much more. Rehearsals would start in late March and my contract would actually go all the way through to January of 2010. The shows sound like a lot of fun - I'm especially excited about the thought of doing a swing show. There are 4 shows total because all of these cruises are between 10 and 14 days long. I'm really excited about the thought of seeing parts of the world that I could never afford to see on my own - AND all in ONE contract! BUT I'm a little discouraged at the thought of being away for 10 months at a time and missing Christmas!! So, right now I'm just weighing the pros and cons in my head. It's going to take a lot of prayer for me to decide where God wants me to be...I mean is this God's way of opening the door for me to see the world? I don't know...I'll be honest - I'm scared! That's a long time!! Pray for me - I want to make sure that I'm listening to God's plan for my life and not my own version of it.
On a different note - I managed to sprain my ankle about a week ago now. I was running off stage and somehow turned my foot completely to one side in my 4 inch heels! It was VERY painful, but I have found a way to do every show even though I'm hurt. I've worn flats or changed choreagraphy to avoid running up and down stairs...whatever it takes - the show must go on! haha I'm much better now. I've been on my foot most of the day today, and though it is a little sore...it's much better for the most part. For those of you that already knew about my injury and have been praying - thank you! If you just found out - sorry for the delay...honestly I spent most of last week in my cabin other than going to the theatre on show nights, so I haven't had a lot of chances to get on the internet.
What else...OH only 4 more weeks until we start heading to HAWAII!!! WOOO HOOO!!!! I can't wait for warm weather!! We were looking at the schedule and it looks like on our way there we will do a show...have 6 days off...do another show...have 8 days off...and the do our third show! You get the picture! hahaha It's going to be AMAZING!!!! I promise to post lots of pictures of all the beautiful NEW places I'll be seeing.

OH yea -pictures!

So, a while back Heather, Teegan & I went to a Seattle Mariners game - as you can tell we had really good seats too! It was SO much fun!
So, because there's really not a lot to do on the ship as far as entertainment...we decided to have a Superheroes & Villains party! I think we really out did ourselves on costumes!

I can't believe it has been a month since I updated this thing! The weird thing is - it feels like I was just on here a week ago! Maybe that's because I did try to update my blog around then, but for some reason I kept losing my wireless signal. Oh well, I'm here now so let's see what has changed...
The biggest thing is that I've put in requests for my next contract. I don't know yet what my plans are, but I've decided that it would be nice to be offered a bigger ship no matter what I decide to do: move on, or take another ship! During this time we have also been informed that Royal Caribbean had to lay off more than 400 people due to budget cuts, oil prices, etc. so the woman that cast me and usually casts all of the singers is gone now. What does that mean? Well, basically they have half the people to get the same amount of things done and they are going crazy at the main office...on top of that, I don't really know the new casting director for vocalists so I don't feel as confident about moving up in the ranks of the fleet so to speak. So, I requested: the Indpendence, Explorer, and Brilliance. All of which are at least 2 classes larger than my ship, so it could be a little far-fetched to hope for moving up that far after only one contract...but I figure - go big and keep a realistic head on your shoulders - don't you think so? It won't hurt my feelings if I don't get the ship I want, but it would be discouraging to think that I could've gotten a bigger one, but didn't because I wasn't brave enough to ask for it.
SO - say a prayer that things work out in God's time and not my own. AND that I can have some time at home for the holidays and still manage to get a decent contract offer by the first of the year. :)
On a really good note: We just found out that we are officially #1 in the fleet for entertainment!! That means we are even beating the biggest ships with our ratings right now!!! I can't believe it!
Other than that there's really not a lot of changes. We are definitely counting down the weeks until we leave Alaska and move into warmer weather!!! 5 more weeks until the transit to HAWAII!!! WOOHOO!!!!
The shows are still going great - obviously we have our ups and downs. Last week we got a new drummer, so the country show was a challenge since he'd never played the show until our Tech Run the day of the performance! BUT we worked through it and the show still turned out really well in the end. ~
Ok, I guess that's about all for now. I'll try my best to be better about updating this thing.

I also wanted to share a video of one of the songs we did at our July 4th Welcome Aboard Show. I was able to do Independence Day with the band and it was SO much fun!! Here's the link for that one too! :

Other than that fun stuff things are about the same up here. It was REALLY nice having Dad's side of the family up for a while. I got a wake up call just about everyday from Dad, and for once I didn't mind it! haha It was hard to see everyone leave so soon, but I just keep telling myself it won't be long until I see them again!!
The shows are going really well. No more sea sickness. I think I'm finally over the hump and used to being this far away from everyone. I'm really starting to love what I do and appreciate more and more the opportunity God has given me to use my gifts. I know this is where I'm supposed to be and that feels really good. Don't get me wrong though, I still miss everyone of course! I've just made some great friends here...some that I think will be at least really really good pen pals for years to come if nothing else! I'm learning so much about myself and about the world. I'm seeing things that I can't describe and just imagining that God made these things with his 2 hands for us to enjoy is ....INCREDIBLE.
I hope all is well in the south. I miss the warm weather that's for sure! Keep me posted and I'll try to do the same for you guys too!!
